A long journey of learning, from a Teacher Training School to a University for Local Development.

1 August 1936

The Beginning

Uttaradit Rajabhat University was established on royal treasury land in Tha It Subdistrict, Mueang District, Uttaradit Province, covering over 42 rai, originally named "Uttaradit Provincial Teacher Training School"

1942 - 1968

To... Uttaradit Teachers College

  • 1942: Renamed to "Uttaradit Teacher Training School"
  • 1968: Upgraded to "Uttaradit Teachers College"
  • Expanded area to 190 rai and offered Higher Certificate in Education.
1976 - 1987

Expansion and Curriculum Development

  • 1976: Upgraded to a higher education institute for teacher training.
  • 1978: Started offering Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degrees.
  • 1981: Acquired Thung Kalo land (92 rai).
  • 1987: Opened Demonstration School (Kindergarten).

Origin of "Rajabhat Institute"

His Majesty the King graciously granted the name "Rajabhat Institute" replacing Teachers College.

15 Jun 2004

Uttaradit Rajabhat University

Upgraded to a "University" status under the Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547 for sustainable local development.

Graduation Ceremony: Held annually at Dipangkorn Rasmijoti Hall, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. His Majesty the King graciously designates a representative to preside over the ceremony.
